Springtails - Starter Culture

Springtails are tiny arthropods that belong to the class Collembola. They are usually less than 6 mm in length and have a unique appendage called the furcula, which they use to jump away from predators. Springtails are found in soil, leaf litter, and other damp environments, where they play an important role in decomposing organic matter.

Springtails feed on organic matter like fungi, algae, and bacteria, which they find in their environment. You can add some finely ground fish food, yeast, or other organic matter to the substrate to provide them with food.
